Gifted and Talented

TIDE provides students with engaging, project-based enrichment opportunities that extend beyond the traditional classroom experience. Our goal is to foster creativity, innovation, and critical thinking while challenging students to explore their strengths and talents. Students selected for TIDE will meet with enrichment teachers two to three times a month during “pull-out” sessions, while also having access to collaborative experiences offered through our district’s partnership with the Shore Consortium for the Gifted and Talented.
Every student considered for TIDE is evaluated annually using multiple measures that reflect their academic ability, creativity, and potential. Our teachers and administrators remain committed to creating a variety of opportunities for all students to excel in their areas of interest and strength.
Students are re-evaluated annually using multiple measures to ensure they continue to benefit from the program. Once students qualify within a grade band (K-2, 3-5, or 6-8), they remain participants for the duration of that band. To continue in TIDE, students must requalify at the entry points of grade 3 and grade 6 before moving into the next grade band.
All students identified in one or more areas of TIDE will be notified by September 26, 2025.

Our Visual Arts TIDE has been designed to provide students in grades K-8 that have demonstrated exceptional artistic talent opportunities to develop their skills and pursue their artistic passions. Our program is taught by experienced and talented art teachers committed to fostering creativity and helping students reach their full potential. Students will engage in various art projects that challenge and inspire them using a variety of mediums. Students who participate in this program will benefit from personalized instruction and guidance as they explore different art techniques and develop their own unique style. Next school year, students in grades K – 1 will receive opportunities through differentiation in their general education and art classrooms.
